The UXDM Lab proudly participated in the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) 2024 Symposium, held in San Francisco. PhD student Doaa Alrefaei, the first author of the study, represented the lab by presenting a poster titled “Clinical Decision Support System for Automatic Detection of Subjective Pain Intensity from Gaze Data.”

This research focuses on leveraging machine learning and eye-tracking data to develop objective methods for assessing pain in clinical settings. Doaa’s work exemplifies the lab's commitment to advancing AI-driven healthcare solutions and enhancing user-centered clinical decision support systems.

The symposium provided an excellent platform to engage with professionals across medical informatics, artificial intelligence, and healthcare innovation. The constructive feedback and insightful suggestions received from attendees will be instrumental in refining our research.
