We are proud to celebrate Dr. Doaa Alrefaei, who has successfully completed her PhD at WPI Business School.

Dr. Alrefaei conducted her research at the UXDM Lab, under the supervision of Prof. Soussan Djamasbi. Her dissertation, “AI-Enabled Bioresponsive Clinical Decision Support Systems for Chronic Pain: A User-Centered Approach,” introduces a novel system that detects chronic pain through eye movements.

Her work bridges UX research and AI, using eye-tracking and machine learning to build intelligent, bioresponsive systems. Her dissertation produced seven peer-reviewed publications, including award-winning papers recognized by AIS THCI and NEAIS.
